We are ECSTATIC to announce a very special offering coming to your favorite South Philly sangha next month.
Local DJ and yogi, Mythra, will be leading an ecstatic dance at the studio on May 11th from 7-11 pm.
Lauren, a beloved member of the Palo Santo community, is a yoga student and teacher. After taking the 50 hour yoga teacher training at Palo her path unfolded into the realm of combining her love for the yoga community with her passion for DJing. Her DJ persona, Mythra, embodies the divine feminine, her higher self, and her physical form working in unison to be of service to something greater than just herself.
What is ecstatic dance?
In its most basic definition ecstatic dance is a free-form movement experience inspired and led by carefully curated music with the intention of creating a healing journey.
The set is open format and follows a waveform, starting slow, building to a peak/release, and descending into stillness. Ecstatic dance is by no means a contemporary New Age practice. It has been around since ancient times and has been practiced for centuries.
No dance experience or partner is necessary or needed. It’s a perfect outlet for those who think they “can’t dance” because they were taught that to “know” how to dance is to move in a certain way. This is also a sacred playground for experienced movers and dancers craving for a free space to express amongst community. Everyone is welcomed.

7 pm Opening Circle
8 pm Live set by Mythra
10:30 pm Closing Circle
What makes ecstatic dance a more sacred space than your average nightclub are the agreed upon values and guidelines that hold the safe container for all those taking part in the experience :

(make eye contact and CONFIRM a “YES”, respect others space, crossed arms or looking away means “NO”)

(Be free to dance how you want. No judgment)
